Official Privacy Policy, Terms of Service, and Customer Support for Cortex OBD2 Diagnostic Scanner
Privacy Policy
Cortex OBD2 Diagnostic Scanner strictly DOES NOT collect, store, or transmit any personal identification data, user identities, or real-time personal location details. To provide high-precision OBD-II diagnostics, 26-language AI Doctor mechanical assistance, and Pro Appraisal Reports, only completely anonymized technical snapshots (Device UUID, engine RPM, coolant temperature, fuel trim, DPF soot load, and DTC trouble codes) are processed securely.
At Cortex OBD2 Diagnostic Scanner, user privacy and data sovereignty are fundamental engineering principles. Our application is fully compliant with the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), KVKK, and Apple App Store / Google Play Store Review Guidelines.
Anonymized Technical Data Processed by Cortex OBD2 Diagnostic Scanner
- Device Identifier: A randomly generated app-specific UUID used solely for diagnostic session continuity, unlinked to hardware credentials or personal identities.
- Vehicle & ECU Metadata: Scanned vehicle manufacturer, model name, model year, and ECU protocol parameters.
- Live Engine Telemetry: Instant engine RPM, coolant temperature, battery voltage, fuel trim (STFT/LTFT), and DPF filter soot load snapshots captured during diagnostic scans.
- Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC): Active, pending, and historical Powertrain (P), Chassis (C), Body (B), and Network (U) diagnostic trouble codes.
- AI Doctor Context Data: Anonymized DTC codes and telemetry parameters processed via secure Supabase Edge Functions for 26-language AI mechanical analysis with zero persistent personal data retention.
Local Storage & End-to-End Cryptography
For riders traversing remote areas without internet coverage, Cortex OBD2 Diagnostic Scanner uses an offline-first architecture powered by local SQLite storage. When connectivity is established, telemetry data is encrypted using TweetNaCl end-to-end cryptography standards before syncing with our cloud database. Technically, it is impossible to link this technical data to real individuals, geographic locations, or personal vehicle identification numbers (VIN).
Terms of Service
Welcome to Cortex OBD2 Diagnostic Scanner. By installing or using our application, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following Terms of Service.
1. License & Scope of Usage
Cortex OBD2 Diagnostic Scanner grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license to use the software on your compatible mobile device for vehicle diagnostics, live telemetry monitoring, and Pro Appraisal PDF report export.
2. AI Doctor & Appraisal PDF Disclaimer
Diagnostic assessments generated by the AI Doctor engine and exported via the Pro ECU Appraisal Report are automated software analysis outputs designed for informational assistance. They do not constitute official mechanical engineering certifications and DO NOT replace a physical inspection performed by a certified technician or authorized repair facility.
3. Hardware & Bluetooth Adapter Safety
Cortex OBD2 Diagnostic Scanner connects with standard Bluetooth (BLE and SPP Classic) ELM327 OBD-II adapters. We are not responsible for connection drops, electrical damage, or vehicle ECU malfunctions caused by unverified or low-quality hardware clone adapters.
4. Disclaimer of Warranties & Modifications
Cortex OBD2 Diagnostic Scanner is provided "as is" and "as available". We reserve the right to modify these terms or update software features at any time to maintain security and regulatory compliance.
